Meet the Esthetician
Hi, I’m Treygell Shields — educator-turned-esthetician, PCOS warrior, and founder of Shades of Beauty Esthetics. My journey into skincare didn’t begin in a spa or a salon; it began in doctor’s offices where answers were scarce, treatments were generalized, and my needs — as a Black woman navigating PCOS, were often dismissed.
I struggle firsthand with hirsutism, ingrown hairs, cystic acne, hyperpigmentation, and post-inflammatory scarring. I understand the importance of customized skincare experiences and know what it’s like to feel invisible in wellness spaces. So I became the solution I was searching for, someone who truly understands.
With a background in education and a passion for creating safe, affirming spaces, I decided to take healing into my own hands. I trained, certified, and committed myself to understanding the science behind skin, especially for melanated tones and hormonally affected skin, focusing on PCOS skincare solutions.
Today, I use that knowledge to empower others to glow in every shade through inclusive beauty practices.
